Academic Malpractice in Tests and Exams from an International Perspective

Cheating in exams and other forms of academic dishonesty have been reported to be a serious issue many countries. A lot research has conducted on the topic, but it focuses mainly US context. Studies pertaining problem countries are rather scarce. The existing considers from different perspectives. Some studies concentrate scope particular country, others choose individual contextual factors cheating, or students’ perceptions attitudes towards exam malpractice. surveys often restricted selected nationalities, questions arelimited frequency cheating they rarely include reference methods used. In reaction rarity among students cultural backgrounds, an international questionnaire survey was undertaken. Its aim, others, answer two questions: (1) What do use cheat tests exams? (2) Are there significant differences way Students France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, USA were asked online about used exams. results 1309 show that similarities also between cultures with cheat. findings should taken into consideration classroom high-stakes assessment, any cross-national comparisons outcomes. Teachers, administrators researchers ought aware nationalities may influence test validity.
